Bishop Cabinets
In the past we spoke about "Bishop Cabinets", they are a semi-custom framed cabinet line. Bishop cabinets makes a beautiful product as well as being a pleasure to deal with. At Regal Kitchens we absolutly love how they stand behind their product. We have been dealing with them almost as long as they have been around. From what I understand we were actually their 21st customer. Here I Quote from there newsletter written by Jim Sr. the President of the company:
"As we look at what most cabinet companies are doing during these times, it seems that many have slowed or eliminated their advertising, and that most have really slowed down their R&D and new product releases. Even the ones who talk about continuing to progress seem to bring up things that they did a year ago. Since most companies are laden with debt, their decisions to slow down these aspects of their businesses make sense. But because we are debt free, our position is a bit different and we would do ourselves and our customers an injustice if we adopted the same mindset. We are investing in the future, and taking advantage of the time available to get more of the things we want to add to our line introduced than we could during busier times.
I've mentioned this before, but one of the benefits of reduced demand has been the reduction in production hours from frequent 60 hour weeks to 40 hour weeks. Since our staff was used to 10-hour days anyway, we changed our production to four 10-hour shifts. That has allowed us to use the free time to test and train. For example, the biggest single production day of full access cabinetry so far occurred this week. Most full access cabinets to this point had been assembled by the production managers, and they had started bringing in some of the production employees to watch what was going on. This week, they started letting some of those employees get "hands on", under their direct supervision. Instead of trying to train these employees in boom times, when they would have been trying to learn while tired from an already long work day, we are able to train them while they are fresh, and to pick and choose who will get trained when."
Basically they have been working for the past three years on expanding into framless, with foils, wood, metals, it`s just an amazing new line that I am fascinated by. Below I posted one of their video clips, of them introducing the new framless line. Hopefully next week I will talk more about them as A company and what they represent.
Please don't hesitate to call with any questions,
Sincerely,
Moe Hirsch
